There’s been a lot of buzz around mangosteen and its anti-cancerous potentials. Xanthone, the component that has been the focus of many studies, has shown very promising results against various forms of cancer. But the fruit is also known for its other uses and has been used for medicinal purposes in SouthEast Asia for decades.
A review by Malaysian scientists uncovered a variety of research that looked into the mangosteen’s application for diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension and even as an antidepressant.
