Academicians Form Committee To Spur Cannabinoid Research


The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine have appointed a committee to regulate existing and future research on marijuana and cannabinoid health effects. The body consists of 16 experts in the areas of marijuana, addiction, oncology, cardiology, neurodevelopment, respiratory disease, pediatric and adolescent health, immunology, toxicology, preclinical research, epidemiology, systematic review, and public health. Their goal is to provide comprehensive health evidence that medicinal marijuana provides which will also help to ease legislative restrictions on future research. 

The comprehensive guideline covers a wide range of existing literature in the field of cancer, immunity, respiratory diseases, mental health and many more.
